UPDATE: The section of Old Lynchburg Road from the shop driveway to the bridge (between our driveway and RRPC) is closed today. You can reach the shop from I-64 on Old Lynchburg Road . You cannot reach the shop on Old Lynchburg Road coming north from Plank Road or Read Hill Road.

Our apologies for the inconvenience and confusion. We received no notice from VDOT regarding the closures. When we did finally pry information out of VDOT, it turned out to be incorrect.

ORIGINAL POST:

VDOT has closed a section of Old Lynchburg Road today (until 5 pm) and tomorrow (9am-5pm). The section of Old Lynchburg Rd that is closed runs from Dudley Mountain Road towards Charlottesville for about a mile, It is my understanding that they are working on a culvert. This was done, as far as anyone I have spoken to, without any warning.

The shop is open. However, if you are coming from the north, you cannot use Old Lynchburg Road to reach the shop. You will need to access Red Hill Road via Route 20 or Route 29, and then come up Old Lynchburg Road from the south.
