The Ruger Mark III pistol is a blowback operated, semi-automatic rimfire pistol chambered in .22 Long Rifle. It is fed from a ten round box magazine.1
Ruger manufactured the Mark III from 2004 until 2016.2 It was available in:

- Standard – as described above
- Target – longer heavyweight barrel to aid with target shooting
- Government Target – longer heavyweight barrel to aid with target shooting (sold to Government only)
- Competition – slab-sided heavyweight barrel and target grips
- Hunter – 6 7/8” target-crowned, fluted bull barrel, micro-adjustable V-notch rear sight, and a HiViz front sight
- 22/45 – polymer grip frame assembly, grip shape & angle similar to 1911 pistols
