adapter

An adapter is any device used to alter the use or function of a gun.

examples:

      • X-Caliber – A set of auxiliary chamber adapters that permits the use of smaller caliber ammunition in a gun designed for a larger caliber.
      • grip adapter – A grip adapter alters the size or shape of a handgun grip. It is widely used on competitive target pistols.
