We just wanted to remind everyone that starting on Tuesday, 1 Aug 2017, our shop hours will change to 4:30p-7p Monday through Friday. Other times will be available by appointment (call ahead for an appointment).
We will be closed Monday, 31 Jul 2017. We appreciate your business and thank you for your understanding.
If you have visited the shop this year, you know that our driveway needs to be repaired. The work has finally been scheduled. Our driveway and parking area will be repaved the week of 21-25 Aug 2017.
We will be working during this period. However, as the driveway will be missing for a large portion of the week, you will not be able to reach the shop. You will still be able to call and email. Additionally, we will be making arrangements with all the major shipping companies (FedEx, FedEx Ground, UPS, & USPS) to still receive all incoming guns for transfer.
We understand that this is an inconvenience for our clients. However, once the driveway and parking areas are fixed it will be much better. We will keep you all updated as the work gets underway with updates and pictures on the website. Thank you for your understanding.
As the volume of work in the shop continues to increase, more time must be dedicated to specifically work on guns. Finding a way to allow our gunsmith more time to work in an uninterrupted manner will allow us to catch up on our backlog as well as maintain shorter turnaround times going forward.
Thus, to provide better service to our clients, on 1 Aug 2017, our shop hours will change to 4:30p-7p Monday through Friday. We know that this is a big change.
We will continue to schedule appointments outside of these hours as needed to discuss projects and restorations. We appreciate your business and thank you for your understanding.
Updating existing guns to handle an array of muzzle devices, including suppressors, is something we do regularly. Stop by the shop to discuss your project.
Daniel Defense is committed to the highest level of quality and safety. In keeping with that commitment we are issuing a safety notification related to a condition we identified with the Disconnector in the Fire Control Group. This safety notification applies to certain firearms manufactured between April 1, 2016 and March 3, 2017. In a few cases, a double fire condition has occurred with a single pull of the trigger. In the Company’s spirit to always do the right thing, Daniel Defense will correct any and all potential conditions at no cost to the consumer as part of our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee.
Daniel Defense firearms containing a single-stage Fire Control Group, manufactured between April 1, 2016 and March 3, 2017, MAY fall within the scope of this Safety Notification.
Ruger recently discovered that all Mark IV pistols (including 22/45 models) manufactured prior to June 1, 2017 have the potential to discharge unintentionally if the safety is not utilized correctly. In particular, if the trigger is pulled while the safety lever is midway between the “safe” and “fire” positions (that is, the safety is not fully engaged or fully disengaged), then the pistol may not fire when the trigger is pulled. However, if the trigger is released and the safety lever is then moved from the mid position to the “fire” position, the pistol may fire at that time.
Although only a small percentage of pistols appear to be affected and we are not aware of any injuries, Ruger is firmly committed to safety and would like to retrofit all potentially affected pistols with an updated safety mechanism.
Until your Mark IV pistol has been retrofitted or you verify that it is not subject to the recall, we strongly recommend that you not use your pistol.
The shop will be closed Saturday, 10 Jun 2017. Virginia and I have some personal items to take care of. Sorry about any inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding.
All gave some, some gave all! Classic American Gunsmith knows that freedom is not free. Patrick & Virginia Heraghty wish to remember all of the men and women who have served in uniform and made the ultimate sacrifice. We thank you for our freedom.
The shop will be closed on Saturday, 27 May 2017 as part of our Memorial Day weekend observance.
