A Baughman front sight is a ramped front sight that was developed in the 1930s by US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) employee Thomas Frank Baughman.1 2
In 1935, Smith & Wesson adapted the Baughman front sight for use on their .357 Magnum revolver.3
